ABOUT US

Colorado ASTA is a state chapter division of the national organization, American String Teachers Association. We are an association for string and orchestra teachers as well as those who are supportive of our endeavors.  We are private teachers, public school teachers, university level professors, college students who major in music, professional performers, and much more.

MISSION

We at Colorado ASTA support and encourage the teaching of string instruments at all educational levels, to establish the highest artistic and pedagogical standards, and to demonstrate and publicize the personal and social values accruing from the study and performance of string music. We encourage inclusivity, respect, and compassion for one another.  We believe music is an essential part of who we are as humans and no one should be denied access to music education or the opportunity to make music.
