Sessions with Carrie Lane Gruselle at 2006 CASTA Conference
Session 1: Comprehensive Musicianship through
Performance
This model of organizing your instruction gives you a vehicle to teach to your strengths, fortify your weaknesses and address the standards. Through the five points of the CMP model: Selection, Analysis, Outcomes, Strategies, and Assessment, your students will perform with understanding. Applicable to any music classroom!
Session
2: Music Selection and Creative Concert Programming
Dig deeper into the Selection point of the CMP model and apply the CMP principals to develop creative concert programming. By tweaking your traditional concert presentations, by experimenting with thematic concerts and “informances” (informational performances) not only will your group perform with understanding, but you can help train your audience to listen with understanding!
